Materials: English–Chinese matching word cards plus 1–2 teacher Joker cards
1. Put students in groups of 4–5. Use English–Chinese matching vocabulary cards and add 1–2 teacher Joker cards.
2. Shuffle and deal all cards. Students first remove any matching English–Chinese pairs already in their hands, reading each pair aloud as they collect it.
3. Take turns drawing one random card from the next player. If it completes a pair, read the word and meaning, then set the pair aside. If you draw the Joker, keep quiet and try to pass it on later!
4. Continue until all vocabulary pairs have been matched.
5. The player left holding the Joker loses. Optional: the losing players from each group complete a fun class challenge together.
