Materials: Whiteboard and markers; optional floor tape/cards for life-size version
1. Draw a 3×3 grid and put a vocabulary word, sentence prompt, or question in each square.
2. Divide the class into Team O and Team X. Each round, one student from each team comes up; use rock-paper-scissors or dice to decide who goes first.
3. The student chooses a square and must complete its task correctly before placing O or X.
4. The first team to make a line wins.
🌟 Anti-line version: make a completed line LOSE. Students must avoid connecting their own marks, which usually keeps the board in play longer.
🌟 Life-size version: tape a large grid on the floor and place task cards in the squares.
