Materials: dice, game worksheets
① Play one round togetherStart by demonstrating the game on the board. Show students how each number on the die matches an arrow and practice blending a few words together.
② Roll and follow the arrow 🎲Roll the die, find the matching arrow, and move one square in that direction.
③ Blend the wordCombine the letter on the left with the word family at the top and read the word aloud. For example: b + at = bat.
⭕️ Correct → Stay on the new square.
❌ Incorrect → Go back to your previous square.④
Play in pairs!Once students understand the rules, put them into pairs. Each student gets the same game sheet and starts from the same square.
Take turns: Roll 🎲 → Follow the arrow → Move ⭐️ → Blend!
⑤ First to the bottom wins!
🏆The first player to move their star all the way to the bottom of the board wins.
💡 Tip: Play one round as a whole class first. Once students are familiar with the roll → arrow → move → blend routine, the partner game will run much more smoothly!
