Materials: One identical map per team, stickers/markers, teacher copy
1. Divide the class into 2–4 teams and give each team the same map. Each team secretly chooses one building as its hiding place.
2. Teams take turns asking another team a question using a preposition of place: “Are you across from the post office?”, “Are you behind the church?”, “Are you next to the bank?” The answer must be “Yes, we are.” or “No, we aren’t.”
3. Harder version: a preposition used by the previous team is temporarily unavailable, encouraging students to use a wider range of language.
4. After asking a question, each team makes one direct guess at a building. Wrong guess → lose a heart. Correct guess → that team is eliminated.
5. Each team starts with 3 hearts. Lose all hearts or have your hiding place guessed and you are out. Last team standing wins.
💡 Keep a teacher copy of the map to record each team’s hiding place and check the language.
